BYK defoamer BYK-024 is a silicone defoamer with excellent performance.

Product Characteristics

• Strong defoaming ability: it has excellent foam breaking performance, can eliminate foam quickly, prevent foam from being generated again, and is also effective for microfoam.
• Good compatibility: It can show excellent compatibility in all kinds of water-based product systems, which will not affect the other properties of the product and will not reduce the gloss.
• High stability: chemically stable, acid and alkali resistant, with good long-term stability.
• Excellent environmental protection: VOC-free (<1500ppm), no pollution to the environment, in line with the requirements of the modern industry on environmental protection.

Product Applications

• Coatings: for aqueous emulsion paints, high-gloss emulsion systems based on polyurethane and acrylate/urethane, e.g. for architectural coatings, automotive line coatings, automotive refinish paints, coil coatings, wood and furniture coatings.
• Inks: for aqueous printing inks, overprint varnishes and aqueous UV-based inks.
• Other fields: it can be used in emulsion adhesives, aqueous glass fiber impregnating agents, aqueous pigment concentrates, and can also be used in household cleaning products, which can effectively control the foam and improve the cleaning efficiency.
