Glycol (MEG) is an important basic organic raw material for petrochemicals.

Product Characteristics

• Strong hygroscopicity: it can absorb moisture in the air, and is often used as hygroscopic agent or antifreeze.
• High boiling point and stability: high boiling point, not volatile at high temperatures, suitable as a high temperature solvent or coolant.
• Toxicity: low toxicity, but harmful to human body (accidental intake will stimulate the nervous system, long-term exposure requires protection).
• Chemical activity: esterification, etherification, oxidation and other reactions can occur, it is an intermediate for the synthesis of a variety of chemicals.

Product Applications

• Tobacco industry: as cigarette flavor and tobacco moisturizer.
• Paints and coatings: as solvents or plasticizers to improve the performance of coatings.
• Cellophane and fiber paper: used in the production of adhesives and plasticizers.
