Product Overview

Chuanwei Polyvinyl Alcohol 1788 is a water-soluble polymer with the appearance of white or yellowish powder. Its average degree of polymerization is 1650-1850, molecular weight is about 72600-81400, alcoholysis degree is 87.0%-89.0% (mol/mol).

Product Characteristics

• Water solubility: soluble in water, water solution is transparent. When dissolved, it can be dispersed and inflated in cold water first, and then heated to 75 – 85℃ for rapid dissolution.
• Chemical resistance: at room temperature, the pH value of its aqueous solution is around 5 – 7, viscosity is stable, almost unaffected by weak acids, weak bases or organic solvents (esters, ketones, high-grade alcohols, hydrocarbons), and the oil resistance is very high.
• Film formation: easy to form film, excellent mechanical properties of the film, tensile strength increases with the degree of polymerization and alcoholysis.
• Adhesion: aqueous solution has good adhesion with hydrophilic cellulose, adhesion strength increases with the degree of alcoholysis and polymerization.
• Interfacial chemical property: it has surface activity and can reduce the surface tension of water.
• Thermal stability: It has good thermal stability, and does not undergo any change below 140℃.

Product Applications

• Textile industry: used as spinning slurry and fabric finishing agent, it can improve the weavability of warp yarn, reduce the breakage, and improve the feel and appearance of fabric.
• Construction and decoration industry: used as cement and mortar additives, interior and exterior wall coating additives, molding board adhesives, can improve the flexibility of cement mortar, water retention, improve adhesion, to prevent cracking and peeling of the plaster layer.
• Chemical industry: used as polymerization emulsifier, dispersant and raw material of polyvinyl alcohol acetaldehyde, acetaldehyde, butyraldehyde resin.
• Paper industry: used as paper adhesive, can improve the strength and surface properties of paper, also can be used for sand cloth paper bonding.
• Other fields: in agriculture, it is used as soil conditioner, pesticide adhesion synergist and polyvinyl alcohol film; it can also be used in daily-use cosmetics, pigments, pharmaceutical excipients and high-frequency quenching agent.
