MIT Researchers Honored with Presidential Early Career Awards for Innovation

Eleven faculty members from MIT, including nine from the School of Engineering and two from the School of Science, have been honored with the prestigious Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), joined by fifteen distinguished alumni.
A Prestigious Recognition for Early-Career Excellence
Founded in 1996 by President Bill Clinton, the PECASE recognizes scientists and engineers who demonstrate exceptional potential for leadership early in their research careers. The latest group of recipients was announced by the White House on January 14 under President Joe Biden, following recommendations from fourteen government agencies that put forth outstanding researchers for this award.
MIT’s Distinguished Cohort of Awardees
The honored MIT faculty and alumni are part of a distinguished cohort of 400 scientists and engineers acknowledged for their innovative contributions to science and technology. Among those recognized from the School of Engineering and School of Science are:
- Eleven faculty members including nine from Engineering and two from Science.
- Fifteen alumni spanning diverse scientific disciplines.
