  • Curing characteristics
  • Curing speed: it can react with epoxy resin at room temperature, with fast curing speed, and is suitable for construction in low temperature environment (above 5℃).
  • Flexibility of proportioning: the dosage ratio with epoxy resin (e.g. E-44, E-51) is generally 1:2~1:3 (w/w), which can be adjusted according to the curing speed and strength requirements.
  • Cured product performance: the cured product has good mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and insulation, especially alkali resistance, but weather resistance is poor (long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays or high temperature is easy to yellowing).
  • Advantages and limitations
  • Advantage:
  • Some adaptability to wet surfaces, can be used in slightly damp environments (e.g. concrete substrates).
  • Low exotherm during curing, suitable for large area or thick coating construction, not easy to crack due to exotherm.
  • Limitations:
  • Cured product toughness is poor, easy to brittle crack, usually need to be used with toughening agent (such as dibutyl phthalate).
  • Large odor, need to pay attention to ventilation during construction.
  • Anti-corrosion coatings and adhesives
  • Used to prepare epoxy resin anticorrosion coatings, painted on the surface of steel, concrete, to prevent acid and alkali corrosion (such as chemical equipment, pipeline walls).
  • As a structural adhesive, it is used for bonding of metal, ceramics, concrete and other materials (e.g. building reinforcement, machinery repair).
  • Construction and civil engineering
  • Formulate epoxy mortar or epoxy putty for repairing cracks and defective concrete components (e.g. bridges and tunnels).
  • As a curing agent for floor coatings, to form wear-resistant, impact-resistant industrial floors (e.g. workshop, warehouse floors).
  • Electronic and insulating materials
  • Used for potting electronic components (e.g. transformers, capacitors) to provide insulation and mechanical protection.
