Product Overview

Kuraray Poval22-88 (PVA 217) is a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol resin with excellent properties.

Chemical Properties: It is a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol, produced from polyvinyl acetate by alcoholysis reaction, with uniform chemical structure.
Physical Properties: usually white powder, fine and uniform particles, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. Easily soluble in water, insoluble in almost all organic solvents. The viscosity of its aqueous solution varies with the degree of polymerization and temperature, which is lower than other water-soluble macromolecules. The aqueous solution is easy to form a film, and the skin film has excellent physical properties such as tensile strength and abrasion strength. The hygroscopicity of the skin film is low, and the change with humidity is also smaller than other water-soluble polymers. In addition, it has strong resistance to weak acids and weak bases, and also has excellent grease resistance.

Textile industry: used as warp yarn slurry, fabric finishing agent, also can be used as vinylon fiber raw materials, can improve the softness and durability of the fiber.
Paper industry: used as paper binder, also can be used as sand cloth paper binder, also can be used as wet strength agent, improve the strength and water resistance of paper.
Construction and decoration industry: It can be used in the preparation of 107 glue, interior and exterior wall coatings, adhesives, etc. It can improve the adhesion and stability of coatings.
Chemical industry: used as polymerization emulsifier, dispersant and raw material of polyvinyl alcohol acetaldehyde, acetaldehyde, butyraldehyde resin.
Other fields: used in agriculture as soil conditioner, pesticide adhesion synergist and polyvinyl alcohol film; oilfield well cementing additives, adhesives; ceramics, alumina granulation, ferrite magnets; also used in daily-use cosmetics, pharmaceutical excipients, and high-frequency quenching agent.
